Cotinus coggygria is commonly called the ‘Smoke Bush’. They are an attractive shrub grown for the foliage which varies from deep purple to red. Misty pink clouds of flower, emerging in late spring to early summer, waft gracefully above the dramatic rounded foliage and persist for months, followed by spectacular crimson foliage in autumn. The scientific name Cotinus is derived from the Greek word 'cotonos', which means ‘wild olive tree’ and it symbolises purification and cleansing.

It is proven to be hard to get real colour on the photos for this base "Smoke Bush" is vivid deep purple with red undertones..
