Tangager are a prolific species of small brightly colourful birds. This particular bird is the Silver beaked Tanager. The male is bright red to deep maroon which can look almost black. Tanagers can be found mostly in the Western Hemisphere, with about 60% of them living in South America, particularly the Andes.
